AScore: Art Visions Scoring System

Using Notes and Help Help Table of Contents

Description

Throughout the AScore database on most interactive layouts, you will see three rectangular green buttons in the upper right hand corner:

Help The top button, Help, will bring up a page in your default web browser which will provide specific help for operations on that layout. The page will describe several things, depending on context:
  1. What the layout accomplishes overall.
  2. What the fields contain, if the layout is an interactive entry screen, and how to enter data into them.
  3. What the buttons do and how to use them correctly.
  4. A general procedure; for example, Steps
  5. A button driven menu of choices and pulldowns, with labels, which lead into other menus or into documents.
On the notes layout, the help button brings up this document.
Steps This second button exists on every layout except the Notes layout. It will bring up the help page on the Art Visions general data management procedure. See Steps.
Notes

The third button, Notes, will bring up a file with a single large blank field showing. Into this field you may type any reminders, notes, miscellaneous ideas, to-dos, issues, concerns, phone numbers, grocery lists or poetry which you may need to administrate your part of the job of keeping the AScore database and its procedures fed and flowing.

To enter text, click anywhere in the field, or at the end of already existent text, and start typing. You may use the Font menus to control font, text size, style and color, if doing so will enhance your use of this feature.

Back When you are done, click the Back button and the Notes window will hide or minimize. If you wish, you may leave the window showing, shove it to the side. When the next Notes button is clicked on another layout, the window contents will change to the notes for that layout.
Navigation Although each entry screen in the database has its own notes window, the navigation buttons will take the user around all the available records windows in the notes files. This avoids your having to hunt for a note you made to yourself by accessing and clicking every green note button on every layout until you find it (whew!).
